
Choi Wins; Waves Take Home the Team Title

MILLBRAE, Calif. – Eunseo Choi earned her first collegiate individual win, while the Pepperdine women's golf team won the team title at the Silicon Valley Showcase in Millbrae, Calif. on Tuesday afternoon.

"I'm very proud of everyone's fight to the end to pull out the Win!" head coach Laurie Gibbs said. "Today was a real rollercoaster ride around the golf course. It was a good first college win for Eunseo against some highly ranked players. Everyone gained valuable experience that they can use in the postseason. Now we're on to Arizona State for a weekend tournament."

In addition to Choi, the Waves had four total golfers finish in the top-10 at the par-71 6,061-yard Green Hills Country Club. Lauren Gomez finished tied for 3rd, Jeneath Wong took 7th and Yingzhi Zhu finished in 9th.Â

The 42nd-ranked Waves won the tournament at 2-over with a three-round score of 854 (291-278-285), while #30 Kansas State and San Francisco rounded out the top-three with respective scores 855 and 869.

PLAYER SCORES
- Freshman Eunseo Choi (Auckland, New Zealand) won her first collegiate tournament at 5-under with a tournament score of 208 (69-71-68). Heading into the final round tied for third, Choi tallied an impressive seven birdies during her 3-under 68 in the final round to win the Silicon Valley Showcase by one stroke.
- Senior Lauren Gomez (Murrieta, Calif.) finished tied for 3rd at 3-under with a three-round total of 210 (71-67-72). She earned her third top-10 finish of the year and 15th such finish of her career. Today, Gomez posted a 1-over 72 with four birdies.
- Junior Jeneath Wong (Melbourne, Australia) collected her third top-10 finish this season and 11th finish in the top-10 as a Wave with her 6th place finish this week. Wong recorded a 3-under 68 with four birdies on Tuesday to finish at 2-under with a total of 211 (73-68-70).
- Freshman Grace Anderson (Burlington, Ontario, Canada) ended the Silicon Valley Showcase in 26th with a total score of 225 (78-72-75) (+12). She tabbed a 4-over 75 with one birdie on Tuesday.
- Freshman Nishna Patel (Mumbai, India) finished in 49th at 31-over after a total of 244 (82-79-83) this week. Patel notched a 12-over 83 with four birdies in her last round.
- Playing as an individual, junior Yingzhi Zhu (Nanjing, China) finished the tournament tied for 9th at 2-over with a three-round total of 215 (70-71-74). Zhu carded a 3-over 74 with one birdie in the final round as she earned her first career top-10 finish.
