Women's Golf Takes Third at the Bruin Wave Invitational

VALENCIA, Calif. – Earning its fourth finish in the top-three this season, the Pepperdine women's golf team finished in third at the Bruin Wave Invitational. The Waves posted a total of 895 (307-298-290) (+31) at the par-72 6,359-yard Valencia Country Club this week.
Jeneath Wong led the Waves with a three-round total of 221 (78-75-68) (+5) as she finished tied for ninth and collected her second top-10 finish this year, and her 10th finish inside the top-10 of her career. Wong's 4-under 68 in the final round led the entire field today.
#31 UCLA won the tournament with an 870 (+6), while #29 Baylor came in second with a score of 892 (+28).

- Junior Jeneath Wong (Melbourne, Australia) carded the best round of the entire field today with a 4-under 68 on Tuesday. Wong tallied a total of five birdies during her final round and finished the tournament tied for 9th with a total of 221 (78-75-68) (+5). This was her second top-10 finish this year, and her 10th finish in the top-10 as a Wave.
- Senior Lauren Gomez (Murrieta, Calif.) finished tied for 11th with a three-round score of 223 (79-75-69) (+7). Gomez earned her 21st top-20 finish of her career, and it was her fourth such finish this year. Today, Gomez was 1-over through four, but played a bogey free last 14 with four birdies to finish with a 3-under 69.
- Freshman Eunseo Choi (Auckland, New Zealand) posted a 54-hole total of 227 (76-77-74) (+11) and finished tied for 20th to collect her first career top-20 finish. Choi notched a 2-over 74 with four birdies during her final round.
- Freshman Grace Anderson (Burlington, Ontario, Canada) carded a three-round total of 11-over 227 (77-71-79) and also finished tied for 20th. This was her second career finish inside the top-20. Anderson earned one birdie during her 7-over 79 this morning.
- Junior Yingzhi Zhu (Nanjing, China) ended the tournament tied for 70th with a total of 255 (76-85-94) (+39). She shot a 22-over 94 today.
- Playing as an individual, freshman Nishna Patel (Mumbai, India) posted a 26-over 242 (83-77-82) at the Bruin Wave Invitational and ended the tournament in 58th. Patel collected two birdies during her 10-over 82 today.
- Playing as an individual, senior KaYee Kwok (Tianjin, China) finished in 72nd after a 45-over 261 (87-86-88) at the Bruin Wave Invitational. Kwok posted a 16-over 88 today.
