
Men's Basketball Cruises to 113-76 Victory Over Lincoln

MALIBU, Calif. – Pepperdine men's basketball (2-1) shot over 60-percent from the field in a 113-76 win over Lincoln (0-4) Tuesday night from Firestone Fieldhouse.
Pepperdine shot 49-for-81 from the field in a dominant offensive effort which saw eight Waves finish with at least eight points.
Danilo Dozic led the way with a career-high 23 points on 11-for-13 shooting while Yonatan Levy recorded his first double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Luka Vudragovic (14) and David Mager (13) also notched career-bests in the scoring department, while Aaron Clark finished with 14 points and four assists. Styles Phipps contributed nine assists to go along with nine points.
"It was a nice game for us to get everyone an opportunity to play," said head coach Ed Schilling. "Scoring 88 points in the paint and dishing out 26 assists highlighted our unselfish play."
The Waves jumped out to an early 17-6 lead with a 9-0 run which featured a pair of field goals from Dozic and a three-point play converted by Levy.
After the Oaklanders cut the lead down to four at 32-28, Pepperdine used an 11-0 run to increase its lead to double-digits and would never look back. The 11-0 spurt featured a pair of jumpers from Dozic and a three-point play from David Mager.
Pepperdine kept up its hot scoring from the jump, starting 18-for-27 from the field and scoring 53 first half points despite not hitting a three-pointer in the opening 20 minutes.
Pepperdine ultimately held a 53-47 lead at the break. Dozic and Aaron Clark paced the Waves early with 10 first half points while Phipps registered eight points and four assists.
The Waves continued to build on the lead in the second half, as Dozic continued his scoring prowess as the sophomore made all six of his field goal attempts in the half on the way to his career-high scoring night.
Pepperdine held the Oaklanders scoreless for another four-minute stretch early to put together a 13-0 run, which put the lead at 74-42 less than five minutes into the second half. The lead never got back to within 25 as the Waves offense proved efficient down the stretch.
Luka Vudragovic and David Mager got the Waves started from distance, each hitting on two of three looks each from downtown in the second half. Yonatan Levy and Pasha Shemirani also connected from distance in the half.
Dozic (13), Levy (11) and Mager (10) all scored in double figures in the second half, as the Waves posted 60 points after the break while holding Lincoln to 14-for-35 from the field.
Stefan Cicic put on the finishing touch offensively for the Waves with the final points to give Pepperdine the 113-76 victory. Cicic recorded nine points and five rebounds in the second half.
Lincoln was led by Laolu Kalejaiye's 38 points as his 12 three-point makes marked a new opponent single-game high against the Waves.

- Pepperdine is the first team to have a 25-plus assist effort as a team this season while collecting 25 or more offensive rebounds.
The Waves will remain home to host Northern Colorado on Saturday with opening tip set for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
