MALIBU, Calif. – Pepperdine men's volleyball took another match, against D'Youville in three sets on Sunday night. The Waves posted 25-11, 25-5, and 25-13 set scores against the Saints through three sets, with six separate players posting above a .500 hitting percentage.
The Waves could not be stopped from the service line, with 15 total aces throughout the three set match. Pepperdine also hit an impressive .691%, with
Ryan Barnett leading the offense, tabbing 16 kills on a .714 clip. Freshman,
Cole Hartke had a record-breaking night, totaling the highest hitting percentage in Pepperdine history in a single match with a .917 on 11 kills, while also serving up five aces, four blocks, and three digs.
Ryan Graves was on playmaking duty tonight, posting 29 assists while also putting up two service aces and four digs. Pepperdine kept D'Youville to a .019 hitting percentage through three sets, while only allowing 13 kills from the opposition throughout the entire night.

PLAY-BY-PLAY
The Waves and Saints opened up set one going point-for-point until kills from
Ethan Watson and
Cole Hartke gave Pepperdine a four-point advantage at 10-6. There were three ties in the first set, but D'Youville was unable to defend Pepperdine's .786 success rate, with
Hartke posting five kills and three service aces in the first set alone.
Ryan Barnett got the night off to a successful start, with three kills and two service aces to secure set one, 25-11.
During set two, Pepperdine kept D'Youville to a -.263 hitting percentage, with the Saints only able to tab three kills on 19 attempts.
Barnett added another four kills on five swings, along with an ace from the service line, and a denial at the net.
James Eadie went a perfect three-for-three on attack, while also assisting on two blocks throughout set two. The Waves' error-less performance resuled in a set score of 25-5 in favor of Pepperdine.
To finish off the match,
Barnett hammered nine kills on 12 attempts, while
Hartke went to work with five kills and a .833 success rate, while also serving two aces.
Jacob Reilly led the defense for the Waves, posting four digs and two assist, as well as an error-less reception rate. Pepperdine only allowed four kills from D'Youville throughout the set, keeping the opponent to a .158 hitting percentage, and taking set three, 25-13.
