MALIBU, Calif. – The Pepperdine women's swim and dive program will face off with San Diego in a road dual meet at 10 a.m. on Friday. Entry to the meet is free to all fans.

SAN DIEGO — The Toreros are 1-2 in dual meets on the year with their lone win coming against the Chapman Panthers. San Diego dropped their other two dual meets to San Diego State back in September.

AWARDS — The Waves have tallied four conference weekly awards this season. Most recently,
AJ Adams earned the MPSF Athlete of the Week award after winning two events and helping the Waves defeat New Mexico for the first time in program history in a double dual meet in San Diego last weekend.
Madeline Wheeler earned MPSF Athlete of the Week honors on November 18 after becoming the sixth fastest Wave in program history to complete the 1650 free. She finished her swim in 17:39.57, which was also a season-best time for the Waves. Wheeler also clocked a 5:18.83 in the 500 free, good for the seventh fastest time by a Wave during the 2024-25 campaign.
Alexandra Browne garnered the MPSF Athlete of the Week award on October 29. Prior to the honor, Browne won all four of her events in Pepperdine's dual meet against Westmont at
Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool. She helped the Waves 400 medley and 200 free relay teams take first, while also winning both of her individual races.
Vivian Vallely earned the MPSF Athlete of the Week award on October 8. Highlighted by her second place finish with a score of 283.50 in the 3-meter competition on Friday, Vallely qualified for NCAA Zones in the event for the second year in a row. She then earned another second place finish as she totaled 254.95 points in the 1-meter competition on Saturday.
LAST TIME IN THE POOL — Pepperdine fell to Fresno State 215-81 in a two-day dual meet last weekend. The Waves saw strong performances from
Alexandra Browne and
Ansley Halbach. Browne won the 50 free for the fifth and sixth time this season as she earned a first place finish on both Friday and Saturday. Halbach posted a personal-best in the 1650 free with a time of 17:39.96, which earned her the seventh spot on the Waves all-time top-10 list.
Overall, Pepperdine earned seven spots on the podium as Browne,
Layla Busquets and
Kiana Fan placed in the top-three in individual events last weekend.
ROSTER BREAKDOWN — The Waves return all three of their All-MPSF second team honorees from last year:
Alexandra Browne (50 free),
Kylie Taylor (100 back) and
Amanda Wong (Platform). Pepperdine also boasts three swimmers who currently hold individual records - Browne (50 free, 100 IM), Taylor (100 back) and
Lexi Haymart (500 free). Additionally, the team brings back everyone from last year's record-setting 200 free and 800 free relay teams in Browne,
Layla Busquets,
Anna Ryan, Taylor,
AJ Adams,
Lexi Fok,
Ansley Halbach and
Lindsay Hemming. The complete breakdown of the roster is seven seniors, fourteen juniors, nine sophomores and five freshman, which includes 28 returners and seven newcomers.
