Pepperdine Falls to USC in First Road Game

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The #4 Pepperdine men's water polo team fell 16-7 to #3 USC at Uytengsu Aquatics Center on Sunday afternoon.
BIG WAVES
Following an opening goal from USC, Adam Csapo (Budapest, Hungary) found the back of the net before Christian Hosea (San Clemente, Calif.) gave Pepperdine a 2-1 lead on a penalty goal. USC then scored the next three goals of the game to regain its advantage, but Csapo converted his second goal of the game on a 6-on-5 to bring the Waves within one at the end of the first quarter.
After a scoreless two minutes to open the second period, the Trojans scored the first goal of the quarter on a powerplay to take a 5-3 lead. USC then tacked on four more goals in the period while holding Pepperdine scoreless to increase their lead to six at the half, 9-3.
The Trojans began the second half by scoring the first three goals before Csapo notched a hat-trick and scored back-to-back goals. USC would score the last goal of the quarter and take a 13-5 lead into the final period.
Csapo tallied his fifth goal of the game on a powerplay before Conor Brough (Dana Point, Calif.) found the back of the cage, but the Trojans would defeat the Waves 16-7.
