Csapo Named to WCC Preseason Team

MALIBU, Calif. — For the second year in a row, Adam Csapo was named to the WCC preseason team, the conference announced Friday morning.
 
The WCC Water Polo Preseason Coaches poll also voted Pepperdine to finish third with 26 points, behind last year's conference tournament champions San Jose State who received 30 points and Pacific who received 35 points.
 
Csapo (Budapest, Hungary), a junior attacker, has been a key part of the Waves offense tallying 113 goals and 53 assists for a total of 166 points over his first two seasons. He posted a team-high 61 goals and 28 assists last year, including a career-high eight goals in the season opener against #15 Fordham. Csapo has also earned ACWPC All-American honorable mention honors both of his first two seasons in addition to making the 2023 All-WCC second team, the 2022 All-GCC second team and the 2022 All-GCC Freshman team.
 
Next weekend, the Waves will head to La Jolla, Calif. to open their season at the Triton Invitational.
