Pepperdine Men's Tennis Announces Fall Schedule

MALIBU, Calif. — Eight fall tournaments — including one at home for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division 1 Sectional Championships — highlight the Pepperdine men's tennis team's fall schedule, which was announced Monday.

The 2024 fall season will be uncharted territory for college tennis, as NCAA titles will be on the line. Starting this season, the singles and doubles championships are scheduled for Nov. 19-24 in Waco, Texas; prior to this season, the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships immediately followed the conclusion of the national team championships in May. Players and doubles teams will earn berths to the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships based on finishes in several highly competitive ITA tournaments, as outlined on the ITA's website.

Nevertheless, the more things change, the more things stay the same. Pepperdine's fall season begins by returning to the Battle of the Bay Tournament, held in San Francisco from Sept. 12-15.

The team's busy September continues the following weekend, as the Waves will split up between the Sherwood Intercollegiate (Sept. 20-22) and the ITA All-American Championships (Sept. 21-29), held in Thousand Oaks, Calif. and Tulsa, Okla., respectively. Pepperdine is also scheduled to compete in the SoCal Intercollegiates in San Diego from Sept. 26-29, plus the Milwaukee Tennis Classic, held from Sept. 27-29.

Closing out the fall schedule, NCAA bids will be on the line at the ITA Regionals, hosted by Arizona State from Oct. 17-22. Pepperdine's last guaranteed fall tournament will be at home for the ITA D1 Sectional Championships, hosted at Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center from Nov. 7-10. A full list of draws and participants for that tournament will be announced later.

Should any of the Waves earn berths to the NCAAs, they will compete for national championships in Waco, Texas at Baylor University from Nov. 19-24.

Pepperdine will aim for its fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance in 2024-25 after earning an at-large bid and winning a share of the West Coast Conference regular-season title last year. A full spring schedule will be announced at a later date.
