MALIBU – Canadian point guard Taj Au-Duke will join the Pepperdine men's basketball program this fall, head coach Ed Schilling announced on Tuesday.
Â
Taj Au-Duke | 6'3 | PG | Scarborough, Ontario, Canada
Â
One of Canada's top prep prospects, Au-Duke comes to Malibu from CALI Prep in Pickering, Ontario where he averaged 24.8 points, 6.4 assists and 5.9 rebounds per contest during his senior season, including a 52-point outing on senior night.
Â
"Taj is an exceptional athlete with a great passion for the game," Coach Schilling said. "We think he could be a great pillar for the Pepperdine men's basketball program for the years to come and are super excited about this dynamic guard joining our program."
Â
In addition to his prep prowess, the point guard also played for Team Canada's U16 squad in FIBA's 2021 Americas Championship, helping the team to a third-place finish in a 92-76 defeat of the Dominican Republic.
Â
"I chose Pepperdine because it was overall the best fit for me," Au-Duke said. "Pepperdine has a great coaching staff that is known to develop pros and that is what I am trying to be. The campus atmosphere is a place you always want to be."
Â
Au-Duke will join fellow signees Dovydas Butka, Moe Odum, Javon Cooley, Jayden Russotti, Stefan Todorovic, Alonso Faure and Aaron Clark on Schilling's inaugural Waves hoops squad.
