Vallely Set for NCAA Zones

MALIBU, Calif. – Vallely will represent the Pepperdine women's dive program at NCAA Zones in Flagstaff, Ariz. in the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions.

Vivian Vallely (Newport Beach, Calif.) will compete in the NCAA Zone E Diving competitions in Flagstaff Ariz. She will compete in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events. The 1-meter is set for Monday, March 11 and the 3-meter is on Tuesday, March 12. Prelims for both days will begin at 11:30 a.m. with finals to follow at 2:55 p.m. In both events, the top-18 divers in the prelims will qualify for the finals.

Vallely punched her ticket to the 1-meter event at the La Verne Invite on November 17 where she took first place in the 1-meter finals with a score of 265.80. In the 3-meter finals at the La Verne Invite the next day, she qualified for NCAA Zones as she took second place in the event with a score of 284.85.

LAST TIME IN THE POOL — Four of Pepperdine's divers competed at the MPSF Diving Championships for the first time in program history in the most recent diving competition. Lexie Martin (Keller, Texas), Amanda Wong (Santa Ana, Calif.), Delainey Pisaruk (Phoenix, Ariz.) and Ava Langheim (St. Louis, Mo.) all participated in the championships.

In the 3-meter competition, Martin and Wong qualified for the consolation finals. The consolation finals consisted of the divers who finished in ninth through 16th place in the prelims. In the consolation finals, Martin took fifth place as she earned 228.65 points. Wong earned a third-place finish in the consolation finals by tallying a total of 241.95 points.

In the 1-meter competition, Wong and Langheim earned a spot in the consolation finals. The consolation finals consisted of the divers who finished in the ninth through 16th slots in the prelims. In their consolation finals event, Wong finished seventh as she earned 212.15 points and Langheim won the consolation finals by tallying a total of 234.40 points.

In the platform competition, Wong notched a score of 175.55 points and earned a seventh-place finish as she earned All-MPSF second team honors. She is the first athlete in program history to finish in the top-eight in an MPSF postseason competition.
