Divers Set to Compete in MPSF Championships

MALIBU, Calif. – The Pepperdine women's dive program will compete at the MPSF Championships this coming week in Mission Viejo, Calif.

The Pepperdine divers are ready to compete in the MPSF Diving Championships for the first time in program history. Four of the Waves divers will compete in postseason competition.

The trio of Lexie Martin (Keller, Texas/Keller HS), Amanda Wong (Santa Ana, Calif./Foothill HS) and Delainey Pisaruk (Phoenix, Ariz./Pinnacle HS) will compete in the team competition on Sunday, Feb. 11. The competition is set to begin at 10 a.m. on Sunday morning and will be counted as an exhibition.

Martin, Wong, Pisaruk and Ava Langheim (St. Louis, Mo./Whitfield School) will also compete in the 3-meter, 1-meter and platform competitions at the conference championships. The 3-meter competition will take place on Monday, Feb. 12 and the 1-meter competition is set for Tuesday, Feb 13. Prelims are set to begin at 10 a.m. with the finals to commence at 1:30 p.m. for both days.

On Wednesday, Feb. 14, Martin, Wong, Pisaruk and Langheim will all compete in the conference platform competition, which will feature a finals only format as there is not a preliminary round for the competition.

WATCH/ONLINE — There will be no stream on Sunday, but Monday-Wednesday will be live streamed on Overnght (subscription required), and a link will be provided on PepperdineWaves.com. There will also be a live results link on PepperdineWaves.com for all four days of competition.

LAST TIME IN THE POOL — In a shortened first evening of the UCSB Invite on Friday, Feb. 2, Jordyn Larson (Sacramento, Calif./St. Francis HS) posted the best time of the day for the Waves in the 500 free with a time of 5:12.29. Jessica Calderoni (Los Altos, Calif./Sacred Heart Preparatory) earned the best time of the day for Pepperdine in the 200 IM and 50 free as she notched a time of 2:13.33 and 24.84 in the respective events.

Then in the morning session of Saturday, Calderoni also clocked the best time for the Waves in the 100 fly as she swam the event in 59.03. She also posted the best time of the day for the Waves in the 200 fly as she earned a time of 2:10.97 in the event. Larson continued her strong weekend as she finished the 200 free in 1:55.60, which was the best time for a Pepperdine swimmer today. She also earned the best time of the day for the Waves in the 1650 free as she swam the event in 17:59.25. Maddie McLeay (Omaha, Neb./Millard North HS) earned the best time of the day for the Waves in the 100 breast as she earned a time of 1:07.51. Eleanor Mashkovich (Calabasas, Calif./Westlake HS) clocked a time of 53.83 in the 100 free, good for the best time of the day for Pepperdine.

UP NEXT — After the MPSF Dive Championships, Pepperdine's swimmers will head to St. George, Utah to compete in the MPSF Swim Championships from Feb. 21-24.
