The match began close, with a triple block from
Akin Akinwumi,
Martin de Chavarria and

Ryan Barnett and Akinwumi helped the cause, Princeton won the set 25-19.
The second set was tight with the Waves trailing by three at the 10-7 mark to come back and tie dthe score at 15's with a block from de Chavarria and Ketrzynski and smashes from the latter.
Cole Rasic followed up with an ace to give the Waves a one-point lead, but the opposition kept things toe-to-toe towards a 21-all tie. Kills from de Chavarria helped the cause, but the Tigers finished out the set with a 25-23 win to pull ahead 2-0.
Pepperdine busted out to an 11-6 lead with kills from
Ryan Graves, Ketrzynski and Rasic to give the Waves an early edge. The home court advantage would aide Princeton, however, as the Tigers countered to tie the score at 13-13. The two teams then worked through even 15-15 and 20-20 tied en route to 23's down the stretch, though a service error from the Waves and a final smash from across the net would end the match 3-0 in the Tigers favor.
