MALIBU – The Pepperdine men's basketball team couldn't shoot its way out of a second-half slump and fell to Cal State Fullerton 72-63 on Tuesday night.
The Waves (1-5) led for almost 29 minutes of the contest but the Titans (2-5) capitalized on the Pepperdine drought late to seal the game.

RECAP
The Titans struck first on the night, but the Waves scored the next six points, four by the way of the Pepperdine defense and CSUF turnovers. The teams would go back and forth offensively until Pepperdine caused a Fullerton shot clock violation while Todorovic and Bethea continued to make high-percentage shots from driving into the lane. The Waves would enjoy a slight lead for most of the half until a short run from the Titans at the under-four timeout, leading to a 35-29 halftime score.
The second stanza started off much the same as the first, seeing Coulibaly and Bethea help stretch the Waves' lead to 10 in the opening minutes. The Titans' chaos defense slowed the Pepperdine shooting barrage from the first half, and Fullerton got hot from beyond the arc to gain the lead with five minutes to play. The Waves went five minutes without a made field goal and home fouls would prove to doom Pepperdine for a 72-63 final.
