MALIBU, Calif. – Mahanth Chirravuri, of the Pepperdine men's golf team, was tabbed to the West Coast Conference's preseason squad on Thursday afternoon.

Chirravuri (Chandler, Ariz.) led the Waves this fall with a 71.82 scoring average after competing in four events. He marked two top-10 finishes and shot under par in six of his 11 rounds played. The sophomore, in his first season at Pepperdine this year, finished tied for third at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate and tied for fifth at the Fighting Illini Invitational in the fall. Chirravuri played the 2022-23 season at USC, earning Pac 12 All-Freshman Team and All-Pac 12 honorable mention honors.

As a team, Pepperdine was picked fourth in the preseason coaches poll after receiving 31 points. The Waves finished third at the WCC Championships last season, before making a quarterfinal run in the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in program history and the third-consecutive year.Â

Pepperdine will begin the spring season with the Waves' own Southwestern Intercollegiate at North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village, Calif. on January 29-31.
