
Waves Duo opens up Pepperdine's Stint in the ITA All-American Championships

MALIBU, Calif. — Coming off a productive weekend at the Battle in the Bay tournament, the Pepperdine women's tennis team embarks on its first major fall tournament at the ITA All-American Championships, held in Cary, N.C. this weekend.
The pre-qualifying draw begins on Sept. 30 and will conclude on Sunday, Oct. 1. The matches will be livestreamed on Cracked Racquets and via Playsight; both links can be found on the women's tennis schedule page at pepperdinewaves.com.
Nikki Redelijk (Windermere, Fla.) and Anna Campana (Hillsborough, Calif.) kick off the action for the Waves in the pre-qualifying draw this weekend. In the first round of the single-elimination, 128-player tournament, Redelijk will take on Anna Zyryanova of NC State at 9 a.m. PT on Saturday, while Campana will face Maryland graduate student Selma Cadar at 9:30 a.m PT.

SCOUTING THE WAVES
Doubles partners Campana and Redelijk are coming off a semifinal run in the Battle of the Bay tournament in San Francisco, Calif., last week, in which they fell 8-2 to eventual runner-up Connie Ma and Angelica Blake of Stanford.
Over in singles play, Campana left the Bay Area with a 4-1 record when she bounced back from an opening-round loss in the main bracket by winning the consolation bracket with relative ease. Her 6-2, 6-1 win over Fresno State's Mariia Vyshkina earned her the consolation finals win last Sunday.
Redelijk, meanwhile, reached the quarterfinals of the singles bracket before falling to Ange Oby Kajuru of Oklahoma State in straight sets last Friday.
