Malibu, Calif.  –  The Pepperdine women's soccer team closed out its non-conference schedule with a 4-0 win against UC San Diego on Thursday afternoon at Tari Frahm Rokus Field. In the third-ever meeting between the two programs, this marked the Waves third win.
 
The Waves (3-2-5) scored three beautiful goals within the first eight minutes of the match. Pepperdine then tacked on another goal in the 17th minute to take a four goal advantage. The Waves held steady the rest of the match and ended up beating the Tritons 4-0.
 
GOALS
 
Pepperdine 2': Senior midfielder Tori Waldeck (Newhall, Calif./Hart HS) sent a beautiful left-footed corner kick into the box. A header from Victoria Romero (Claremont, Calif./The Webb Schools) sent the ball over to Karina Gonzalez (Sanger, Calif./Hallmark Charter School) who then sent a right-footed shot into the back of the net. This was Gonzalez's third goal of the season.
 
Pepperdine 6': Waldeck made a couple moves through Triton defenders. As she entered the left side of the box near the goal, she sent a left-footed shot right past the outstretched right leg of the goalie to give the Waves their second goal of the game. This was Waldeck's third goal of the season.
 
Pepperdine 7': Pepperdine drew a foul leading to a penalty kick from Julianna Duckett (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif./Rancho Cucamonga HS). Duckett then sent a right-footed strike into the lower right corner of the goal. This was Duckett's first goal of the season.
 
Pepperdine 17': A beautiful right-footed entry by Skylar Enge (Cardiff, Calif./Pacific Ridge School) from the center of the pitch found its way into the middle of the box. Tori Waldeck used her left foot to lob the ball over the goalie and into the right side of the goal. This was Waldeck's fourth goal of the season and her second of the game.
