Hill Signs as National Team Replacement Player with Angel City FC

MALIBU, Calif.  – Pepperdine alum Kelsey Hill has signed with Angel City FC as a national team replacement player ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup and will occupy a roster spot for ACFC.

National team replacement players can be signed when a national team player is away on international duty and will not count against the team's roster limit.

Hill has been training with ACFC since the beginning of the season and appeared on the preseason roster during their exhibition match against Club América Femenil on March 8.

The Elk Grove, Calif., native spent three seasons as a Wave and made 40 appearances. While at Pepperdine, Hill was a part of the stellar backfield during the 2021 season that helped the Waves post 13 shutouts, which was one short of the school record and the best goals-against average in the West Coast Conference (0.58). She ranked third on the team that season in most minutes played with 1,934.

She scored her first goal as a Wave during the 2021 season against Vanderbilt. Hill earned WCC Defensive Player of the Week on October 18, 2021 after she scored a goal in a 3-0 defeat of Gonzaga and helped the Waves extend its shutout record to seven straight. During her freshman campaign at WCC rival Saint Mary's, Hill earned 2017 WCC All-Freshman team honors.
