FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – For the second consecutive season, the Pepperdine women's diving program had representation in the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships as
Amanda Wong competed in the event on Monday at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center.
In the 3-meter preliminaries, Wong (Santa Ana, Calif./Foothill HS) placed 42nd with an overall score of 216.35.
The freshman was named the Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference diver of the championship meet last month after first and second place finishes in the 3-meter and 1-meter events, respectively.
This is the first time in program history that a Wave has qualified for and competed in the 3-meter competition at NCAA Zones, and it is the second invitation for Pepperdine to NCAA Zones since 2012. Last season,
Lexie Martin and Paulina Homberg both participated in the 1-meter event.

Diving coach
Monique Demaisip said: "Amanda started off strong on the 3-meter today, putting together a solid list. Zones is our most challenging dive meet of the year, where we compete against highly ranked NCAA divers – our zone also includes an Olympian. This is the first time a Pepperdine diver has qualified for and competed at NCAA Zones in the 3-meter, and I am very proud of the way Amanda got the job done today. The 1-meter event is up next on Wednesday, and I'm looking forward to having two of our Waves participate in the final event of the season!"
NEXT UP
Wong will be back in action on Wednesday, March 8 for the 1-meter competition, where fellow freshman
Delainey Pisaruk will join her. The event will once again be held at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center. The prelims start at 11:30 a.m.
