STOCKTON, California – The #3 Pepperdine women's tennis program went on the road for the second time in West Coast Conference play and emerged with a second consecutive shutout, sweeping Pacific 4-0 on Friday afternoon at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.
Pepperdine (11-2, 2-0 WCC) got things going early in doubles as court two's duo of #40
Bunyawi Thamchaiwat (Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand) and
Lisa Zaar (Stockholm, Sweden) won 6-0 to open up the scoring. After Pacific (6-5, 1-2 WCC) earned an upset win on court one, the doubles point came down to court three where
Anna Campana (Hillsborough, Calif.) and
Nikki Redelijk (Windermere, Fla.) were 6-3 winners to give the Waves an early lead heading into singles.
Once in singles, the Waves kept the pressure on by winning five of six first sets. Campana was the first to finish her singles match, defeating Alexis Sam 6-3, 6-2 on court five to double the Pepperdine lead. Redelijk soon followed, taking down Danielle Zamora 6-1, 6-3 on court six. To finish out the sweep, #17
