#3 Women's Tennis Wins Ninth Straight

MORAGA, California – The #3 Pepperdine women's tennis program won its ninth consecutive match and earned its third consecutive shutout with a 4-0 win over Saint Mary's on Saturday afternoon at the Timothy Korth Tennis Complex.

Pepperdine (12-2, 3-0 WCC) commanded doubles from start to finish. #1 Savannah Broadus (Carrollton, Texas) and Janice Tjen (Jakarta, Indonesia) claimed a 6-3 win on court one, while #40 Bunyawi Thamchaiwat (Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand) and Lisa Zaar (Stockholm, Sweden) were 6-2 winners on court two. Anna Campana (Hillsborough, Calif.) and Nikki Redelijk (Windermere, Fla.) also claimed a 6-2 win on the third court.

In singles, the Waves blitzed Saint Mary's (5-8, 1-3 WCC) by winning all six first sets. In the three completed matches, Pepperdine dropped only three total games.

#29 Zaar took down Jordan Harris 6-1, 6-0 on court one, #13 Tjen defeated Olivia Rook 6-0, 6-1 on court two and Redelijk breezed past Madison Weekley 6-0, 6-1 on court six to give Pepperdine the sweep.
