Pepperdine Closes Record-Setting 2022-23 Campaign at NIC

ELKHART, Ind. – The Pepperdine women's swim and dive program wrapped up its impressive season at the National Invitational Championships on Saturday at the Beacon Health Aquatic Center, highlighted by a new school record in the 100 IM thanks to Alexandra Browne.

Pepperdine competed in four events on the final day of the campaign: the 100 IM, 200 breast, 1650 free and 200 back.

In the best performance of the day, Browne (Arlington, Va./Washington-Liberty HS) set a new school record in the 100 IM preliminaries with a time of 57.53, eclipsing the previous school record of 57.96 set by Jenna Sanchez in February.

In February, the Waves won their second consecutive Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference team title. Throughout the campaign, the Waves set eight new school records, had 40 All-PCSC first team performances and won 10 PCSC event championships.

Head coach Ellie Monobe said: "I am very impressed with how the Waves handled themselves this weekend. With over 50 teams, our women were able to improve our placements and represent Pepperdine well at a national level. Environments like this really test a team's programming and training, and I think we put in a solid foundation throughout this season to be competitive at a meet like this. The seven women that were here have played a very important role in setting the standard for future generations of this team."
