Three Waves Earn ACWPC All-American Awards

MALIBU, Calif. – Ryan Brosnan, Antonio Knez and Adam Csapo of the Pepperdine men's water polo team, earned All-American honors, as announced by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches. Brosnan and Knez garnered a spot on the third team, while Csapo picked up an honorable mention nod.

This is the first honor of its kind for Brosnan (Newport Beach, Calif./Newport Harbor HS/UC Santa Barbara), a graduate driver who ended the 2023 campaign with 104 points, leading the Waves with 47 assists. He also tallied 23 steals and 57 goals on a .452 shooting percentage.

Knez (Dubrovnik, Croatia/Gimnazija Dubrovnik/Princeton), a graduate goalie, finished the 2023 season with a 22-6 record and 294 saves with an impressive .524 save percentage. He also had a goals against average of 9.74 and led Pepperdine with 37 steals. Knez had garnered All-American status while playing at Princeton as well, picking up honorable mention acclaim in 2022.

Csapo (Budapest, Hungary/BME International Secondary School), a sophomore attacker, ended the 2023 season with 89 points, leading the waves with 61 goals on a .430 shooting percentage. He also dished out 28 assists and collected 22 steals. Csapo earned All-American status in his first season at Pepperdine as he picked up an honorable mention nod in 2022.

Pepperdine ended the 2023 season ranked #7 in the country. The Waves earned the top seed in the inaugural WCC Tournament, where they eventually fell to California Baptist in the semifinals.
