HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The Pepperdine beach volleyball duo of senior Kristine Briede and sophomore Gabriella Perez wrapped up day two at the AVCA Fall Pairs Championship. The pair first matched up with Long Beach State before facing PCH Cup Rival Loyola Marymount later in the day.

Match 1: Savannah Standage/Julia Westby (LBSU) def. Kristine Briede/Gabriella Perez (PEPP) – 21-11, 21-16
 
Match 2: Isabelle Reffel/Abbey Thorup (LMU) def. Kristine Briede/Gabriella Perez (PEPP) - 21-17, 21-18
 
MATCH RECAPS
 
In the first match of the day, Long Beach State found success early as they quickly defeated Kristine Briede (Balozi, Latvia.Riga State Gymnasium No. 2) and Gabriella Perez (Loomis, Calif./Del Oro HS) in straight-sets.
 
In what was a highly competitive second match of the day, Loyola Marymount defeated Pepperdine in straight-sets.
 
UP NEXT
 
Perez and Briede will compete in a consolation bracket tomorrow morning against the duo of Langley Griffin and Katie McAlister from Utah at 6 a.m. PT.
 
A win against Utah gives Pepperdine another match at 8 a.m. PT, and the Waves could play up to three matches on Sunday. However, any loss on the day would conclude the tournament for the Waves.
