SAN DIEGO, Calif. — The Pepperdine men's tennis team's fall season kept going this Saturday, as several Waves competed at the University of San Diego's Hagedorn Hidden Dual.

Playing against competitors from Baylor, Tennessee and San Diego, the Waves picked up three more singles wins on Saturday — the biggest of which was Maxi Homberg (Freising, Germany) upsetting #72 Oskar Brostrom of Baylor in three sets for his first ranked singles win of the year.

Aside from Homberg's win, Linus Carlsson Halldin (Stockholm, Sweden) beat Baylor's Martin Breysach in straight sets, 6-2, 6-0. Graduate senior George Davis (London, England) rounded out Pepperdine's singles wins by winning his first match against a West Coast Conference opponent with a 6-3, 4-6 (10-6) victory over San Diego's Blake Kasday. 

Elsewhere in singles, Edward Winter (Adelaide, Australia) faced the toughest competition of the Waves with a 6-1, 3-6, 3-6 loss to #3 Johannus Monday of Tennessee. Winter, a true freshman, is only the second player to take the senior Monday to three sets in the fall season thus far.

In doubles, both teams of Winter and Homberg and Carlsson Halldin and Davis lost to their Tennessee opponents 6-3.

The Waves will continue competing in the Hagedorn Hidden Dual tomorrow in San Diego.
