Waves Flood Final ITA Fall Rankings

MALIBU, Calif. — All four members of the Pepperdine women's tennis team who competed during the fall season made the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's final fall national rankings, as announced by the organization Wednesday.

Pepperdine's doubles team of Savannah Broadus (Carrollton, Texas) and Janice Tjen (Jakarta, Indonesia) maintained their top-5 standing in the national rankings at fourth, while in singles, No. 21 Broadus, No. 96 Tjen, No. 77 Nikki Redelijk (Windermere, Fla.) and No. 79 Anna Campana (Hillsborough, Calif.) all made the top-125 rankings.

Only USC, Georgia, Stanford and Oklahoma State had more nationally ranked singles players; they each had five apiece.

The ITA Southwest Regional Singles Runner-Up, Broadus went 11-5 this fall while playing matches against five ranked opponents. The junior picked up her first top-5 singles win of her career in the consolation draw of a highly competitive ITA All-American Tournament with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 win over North Carolina's Reese Brantmeier. Broadus was also Pepperdine's lone representative in the ITA Fall National Singles Championship, in which she reached the round of 16.

Finishing with a 6-3 record in the fall, Redelijk rose to No. 77 in the singles rankings after being slotted No. 83 in the preseason. She is only six spots away from her career-high singles ranking of No. 71, which she achieved in Feb. 2022.

Putting together a productive fall season, Campana went 14-3 — including an impressive run to the qualifying draw in the ITA All-American Tournament in Cary, N.C. This is the first time Campana has been nationally ranked in singles as a Wave; she was ranked as high as No. 21 during her time at Wake Forest.

Despite taking most of the fall season off to compete for Indonesia in the 19th Asian Games, Tjen made the ITA Southwest Regional Singles quarterfinals. She went 3-1 this season in singles, however, she and Broadus won the ITA Southwest Regional doubles title and made the semifinals at the ITA National Fall Championships.

Pepperdine will return to the court in January as it looks to improve on its Sweet Sixteen appearance in the NCAA Tournament. A full spring schedule is forthcoming.
