SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Pepperdine women's tennis junior Savannah Broadus saw her run in the ITA Southwest Regional singles tournament come to an end in the finals, as she fell 6-3, 5-7, 6-2 to USC's Emma Charney on Tuesday morning.
Broadus (Carrollton, Texas) will still compete in the ITA Fall National Championships in singles, as both semifinalists earn at-large bids to the tournament. She will also compete in doubles with teammate Janice Tjen (Jakarta, Indonesia) — both of whom won the ITA Southwest Regional doubles title on Monday.
This year marks the third straight year that at least one Wave has made the ITA Southwest Regional singles final. Last year, Broadus made the finals and won the title; the year prior, Lisa Zaar competed in the finals as well.
