SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Pepperdine men's tennis players George Davis and Photos Photiades completed their time at the San Diego Veterans Tennis Classic with their third-straight doubles win on Sunday.
Playing against their first West Coast Conference doubles opponent, Davis (London, England) and Photiades (Dali, Cyprus) beat San Diego's Nikhil Niranjan and Blake Kasday in a convincing 6-2 rout. The win gave the Waves a perfect 3-0 record in doubles at the tournament.
In singles, Photiades won another three-setter for not only his second collegiate victory but also his second singles win of the weekend. This time, he outlasted San Diego senior Blake Kasday in three sets for a 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 win. Elsewhere, Davis fell in straight sets to redshirt sophomore Nikhil Niranjan, 6-2, 6-0.
