SUNNYVALE, Calif. – In the final regular-season race, the Pepperdine men's and women's cross country teams continued to have strong performances and climb the Pepperdine all-time lists at the Bronco Invitational hosted by West Coast Conference foe Santa Clara on Saturday morning. The squads had a combined 13 new personal records and seven runners marked their name on or higher on the Pepperdine all-time lists.
Freshman
Lizzy Crawford was 13.15 seconds away from the Pepperdine women's 6K school record, as she crossed the finish in a time of 20:52.2 in the women's invitational 6K, which moved her from third to second on the all-time list. Crawford passed head coach
Lauren Floris' (nee Lodge) time of 20:57.28, which ranked second on the list by 5.08 seconds. Freshman
Hannah Bruner ran a personal record of 21:36.5 and moved her from 19th to sixth on the all-time list. This was just Bruner's second collegiate 6K. Senior
Elle Shrader also moved into the top-10 on the all-time list to eighth, earning a time of 21:45.2, which was 22.7 seconds faster than her previous time. The women placed 15th out of 22 teams (14th among Division I schools).
On the men's side, senior
Johnathan Flint led Pepperdine in the men's invitational 8K in a time of 24:17.2, which is a new personal record and keeps his name eighth on the Waves' all-time list. Sophomore
Patrick Thomas moved up from 16th to 14th on the all-time list with a time of 24:44.7, which was 17.5 seconds faster than his previous record. Freshman
Dominic Silhol etched his name 17th on the Pepperdine all-time list with a new personal record of 24:58.3, which was 57.5 seconds faster than his previous time. Senior
Nate Lannen marked his name 20th on the list with a time of 25:19.2, which is a new personal record by 10.8 seconds. The men placed ninth out of 16 teams (eighth among Division I schools).
MEN'S INVITATIONAL 8K LEADERS
- Senior Johnathan Flint (Flower Mound, Texas/Flower Mound HS) 24:17.2, 30th overall, beat his personal record by 2.5 seconds and keeps his name eighth on the Pepperdine all-time list.
- Graduate student Will Bullock (Marietta, Ga./Kennesaw Mountain HS/Eastern Illinois) 24:43.4, 55th overall.
- Sophomore Patrick Thomas (Paso Robles, Calif./Mission College Prep) 24:44.7, 57th overall, beat his personal record by 17.5 seconds and moved him from 16th to 14th on the all-time list.
- Freshman Dominic Silhol (Mequon, Wis./Homestead HS) 24:58.3, 71st overall, new personal record by 57.5 seconds and marked his name 17th on the all-time list.
- Junior Elias Spence (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg Area HS) 25:12.6, 82nd overall.
WOMEN'S INVITATIONAL 6K LEADERS
- Freshman Lizzy Crawford (Thornton, Colo./Horizon HS) 20:52.2, 22nd overall, beat her personal record by 15 seconds and moved her from third all-time to second.
- Freshman Hannah Bruner (Redmond, Wash./Lake Washington HS) 21:36.5, 62nd overall, beat her personal record by 43.9 seconds and moved her from 19th to sixth all-time.
- Senior Elle Shrader (Boerne, Texas/Boerne-Samuel V. Champion) 21:45.2, 70th overall, new personal record by 22.7 seconds and moved her from 13th all-time to eighth.
- Junior Megan LaCamera (Burbank, Calif./Burbank HS) 22:25.1, 117th overall.
- Sophomore Abby Winter (Edina, Minn./Southwest Christian HS) 22:50.0, 136th overall.
MEN'S NOTABLE
- Senior Nate Lannen (Southlake, Texas/Carroll HS) ran a personal record of 25:19.2 in the men's 8K invitational and marked his name 20th on the all-time list.
- Sophomores Spencer Mueller (Fresno, Calif./Clovis North HS) and Kai Newman (Temecula, Calif./Linfield Christian HS), and freshman Gordy Nilsen (Boulder, Colo./Fairview HS) all set new personal records for themselves in the men's 8K.
WOMEN'S NOTABLE
- Junior Caroline Fleenor (Alexandria, Va./Bishop O'Connell HS) and sophomores Caroline Graham (Hockessin, Del./Delaware Military Academy) and Ashley Eagan (St. Petersburg, Fla./St. Petersburg HS) all collected new personal records in the women's 6K.
- Freshmen Emerson Beard (Westlake Village, Calif./Oaks Christian HS) and Lacey Reedy (Saint Simons Island, Ga./Glynn Academy) made their collegiate 6K debuts.

The Waves will be back on the course in two weeks at the West Coast Conference Championships on Saturday, Oct. 28. This season, Pepperdine is the host of the WCC Championships and it will take place at picturesque Alumni Park. The race will be live on ESPN+.
