MALIBU, California – PCH Cup rival Loyola Marymount spoiled the home opener for the #9 Pepperdine men's water polo team on Saturday morning, as the #15 Lions built an early lead and went on for a 13-10 non-conference victory at
Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool.
The Waves (3-6) and Lions (6-0) will both be members of the West Coast Conference next year when the league begins sponsoring the sport.

- Junior attacker Christian Hosea (San Clements, Calif./San Clemente HS), senior attacker Curtis Jarvis (Huntington Beach, Calif./Huntington Beach HS) and senior center Austin Smit (San Diego, Calif./Cathedral Catholic HS) each scored two goals for the Waves.
- Sophomore goalie Justin Edward (San Juan Capistrano, Calif./Dana Hills HS) played the second half and made eight saves.
GAME RECAP
The Waves scored the first goal of the game, but the Lions scored the next five to take a 5-1 lead after the first quarter. It grew to 10-4 at halftime and 13-5 after three quarters. Pepperdine played its best quarter in the fourth, outscoring the Lions 5-0 as Hosea and Jarvis scored twice each.
