MALIBU, California – The #6 Pepperdine women's tennis program earned its fourth West Coast Conference Doubles Team of the Week award this season, as
Savannah Broadus and
Shiori Fukuda were this week's honorees as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Broadus (Carrollton, Texas) and Fukuda (Tokyo, Japan) had a perfect 3-0 week for the Waves, defeating a top-40 opponent on Wednesday at UCLA before earning two wins against Gonzaga and Portland over the weekend to help Pepperdine move to 6-0 in West Coast Conference play. Playing from the second spot, the pair is 4-0 together this dual season. This is the first doubles weekly recognition for the two in 2022.
Broadus and
Janice Tjen won the first two Doubles Team of the Week honors (3/15, 3/22) while
Victoria Flores and
Lisa Zaar were named the Doubles Team of the Week on March 29. Fukuda was named the Singles Player of the Week on March 22 as well.
Pepperdine faces Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla. on Saturday afternoon at approximately 1:00 p.m. PT.
