Women's Golf Finishes Third at Chambers Bay

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Washington – Led by Kaleiya Romero's tie for sixth place, the Pepperdine women's golf team posted a strong third-place finish at the Chambers Bay Invitational on Tuesday.

The Waves shot a two-day total of 895 (300-290-305) at the par-72 Chambers Bay Golf Course. Pepperdine finished just one stroke behind second-place Washington and outdueled Denver down the stretch to take third, ending up two shots better than the Pioneers.

In what the Waves hope will be a good preview of next week's West Coast Conference Championships, four of the five league schools were at this event and Pepperdine defeated BYU by 24, San Francisco by 33 and Gonzaga by 54.
