SEAL BEACH, California – After 36 holes on Monday at the Gold Rush, the Pepperdine women's golf team stands in fifth place.
The Waves shot 616 (304-312) at the par-72 Old Ranch Country Club.

- Playing as an individual, graduate Megan Dennis (Bedfordshire, United Kingdom) is tied for ninth place at 149 (75-74). She had one birdie during the morning round, then an eagle on the par-5 sixth hole plus two birdies in the afternoon.
- Sophomore Lion Higo (Gold Coast, Australia) is tied for 14th at 152 (77-75). She had two birdies in the first round, and then an eagle on the par-4 first hole as well as three birdies in the second round.
- Freshman Lauren Gomez (Murrieta, Calif.) is also tied for 14th at 152 (75-77). Three of her four birdies on the day came in the second round.
- Junior Reese Guzman (Kahului, Hawai'i) is tied for 29th at 155 (76-79). She had one birdie in the first round.
- Playing as an individual, freshman KaYee Kwok (Tianjin, China) is also tied for 29th at 155 (78-77). She had two birdies in the first round, which came on her first and last holes.
- Sophomore Kaleiya Romero (San Jose, Calif.) is tied for 34th at 157 (76-81). She had two birdies in each round.
- Freshman Milla Sagel (Bielefeld, Germany) is tied for 41st at 159 (77-82). Three of her four birdies came in the first round.
UP NEXT
In Tuesday's third and final round, the Waves will be paired with Fresno State and Cal State San Marcos. It's a shotgun start at 7 a.m.
