LAS VEGAS, Nevada – The Pepperdine men's golf team will head into the final round of the Southern Highlands Collegiate in a tie for third place.

After Monday's second round, the Waves have a two-day total of a 16-under 560 (273-287) at the par-72 Southern Highlands Golf Club. Pepperdine is only three shots out of second place but 10 back of the leader, Oklahoma. The prestigious event features nine teams in Golfstat's top 35, including the #5 Waves.

PLAYER SCORES

Senior Joe Highsmith (Lakewood, Wash./Bellarmine Prep) is tied for 17th place with a 4-under 140 (68-72). His even-par round included five birdies.
Senior Derek Hitchner (Minneapolis, Minn./The Blake School) is tied for 22nd with a 3-under 141 (67-74). He had three birdies today.
Junior Dylan Menante (Carlsbad, Calif./Sage Creek HS) is tied for 32nd with a 2-under 142 (70-72). He had three birdies during an even-par round.
Junior William Mouw (Chino, Calif./Ontario Christian HS) had Pepperdine's best round of the day, a 3-under 69, to move him to a tie for 40th at 144 (75-69). He had six birdies today, three on the front nine and three on the back.
Playing as an individual, freshman Ian Maspat (San Diego, Calif./Scripps Ranch HS) is also tied for 40th at 144 (67-77). His second round had three birdies.
Senior Joey Vrzich (El Cajon, Calif./Christian HS/Nevada) is tied for 58th at 146 (68-78). He posted three birdies on Monday.

UP NEXT

Pepperdine will be paired with Georgia and Georgia Tech for Tuesday's third and final round. They'll start on the first tee beginning at 9:50 a.m.
