RANCHO SANTA FE, California – Lauren Gomez and
Lion Higo both shot even-par 72s to lead the Pepperdine women's golf team at Tuesday's third and final round of the Lamkin Invitational. The Waves finished in 11th place.
The Waves ended with a two-day total of 915 (303-313-299) at the par-72 Farms Golf Club. Nine of the 10 teams that finished ahead of Pepperdine are ranked in the nation's top 25.
PLAYER SCORES
- Sophomore Lion Higo (Gold Coast, Australia) tied for 22nd at 225 (69-84-72). She had three birdies during her even-par final round, and a team-best nine for the tournament. She played the par-3s at 5-under, the best score in the field over three rounds.
- Freshman Lauren Gomez (Murrieta, Calif.) tied for 28th at 227 (77-78-72). She had three birdies during her even-par final round, including two in the final four holes.
- Junior Reese Guzman (Kahului, Hawai'i) tied for 41st at 230 (80-75-75). She had one birdie on Tuesday.
- Graduate Megan Dennis (Bedfordshire, United Kingdom) tied for 67th at 239 (81-78-80). She had two birdies today.
- Sophomore Kaleiya Romero (San Jose, Calif.) was 75th at 252 (77-82-93).
UP NEXT
Pepperdine's second tournament of the spring is Long Beach State's Gold Rush, set for February 28 and March 1.
