Box Score MALIBU, California – Malia Bambrick of the Pepperdine women's basketball team collected her 1,000th career point in Tuesday's 74-65 win over Pacifc. 

The Waves (8-12, 4-7) led by 21 in the second quarter, the Tigers (6-18, 3-10) took the only lead of the game at 65-64 with 4:39 left, but Pepperdine kept Pacific scoreless the rest of the way and scored the game's final 10 points. 

BIG WAVES 

• Freshman Ally Stedman (Phoenix, Ariz./Pinnacle HS) led the way with 22 points by shooting 9-for-18, including four three-pointers.
• Senior Malia Bambrick (Santa Clarita, Calif./Bishop Alemany HS) collected 19 points by shooting 7-for-15 and made five three-pointers. 
• Redshirt junior Eve Braslis (Newton, Victoria, Australia/Geelong College/Utah Valley) banked 16 points by shooting 7-for-10. She had three assists and grabbed nine rebounds.
• Redshirt junior Becky Obinma (Menifee, Calif./Rosary Academy/Texas Christian) collected a career-high 13 rebounds.   

GAME RECAP 

The Waves came out hot and scored the first eight points of the game. Pacific cut the deficit by four, but another seven straight points for Pepperdine extended its lead at 18-7. The Tigers scored a basket, but another six consecutive points for the Waves increased the margin at 24-9. Pepperdine made the last shot of the quarter, thanks to Bambrick, to hold the lead at 26-11.

Back-to-back three-pointers from Bambrick and Stedman started the quarter and the Waves went up 32-11, the largest lead of the game. Pacific had their largest scoring run of the game with 12 points to get the score within nine at 36-27. Bambrick hit one from long range with under a minute left before the half to add to the Waves' lead at 39-27, heading into the break. 

In the third quarter, Bambrick stayed hot and hit another three-pointer to extend Pepperdine's lead at 41-27. A three-point play for the Tigers had them within 10, but thanks to a Stedman layup, the Waves were still up at 43-31. Pacific then went on a 10-point scoring run and were within two at 45-43, with under five minutes left in the quarter. Braslis scored four points for the Waves to increase the margin back to six at 49-43. Pepperdine and Pacific went back and forth with under a minute left in the third, but the Waves held the lead 56-52 heading into the final frame. 

Pacific scored the first basket of the fourth, but another three-point basket by Stedman added to the Waves' lead at 59-54. The Tigers went on a seven-point scoring run to take the lead for the first and only time at 65-64. The Waves countered the Tigers' run with a 10-point scoring run of their own to close out the game and collect the win.

• Pacific forced 20 turnovers compared to the Pepperdine's 17. 
• The Waves outshot the Tigers 42.4% to 40.3%.
