RANCHO SANTA FE, California -- The Pepperdine women's golf team got its spring season underway with 36 holes at the Lamkin San Diego Invitational on Monday.
The Waves were one of just four teams to finish the second round before darkness set in. Pepperdine currently stands in 12th place with a total of 616 (303-313) at the par-72 Farms Golf Club.
PLAYER SCORES
- Sophomore Lion Higo (Gold Coast, Australia) is tied for 45th at 153 (69-84). Her 3-under 69 in the morning was her first below-par round of the season, and it briefly put her into a tie for third place. She had five birdies during that round, and one more in the afternoon.
- Freshman Lauren Gomez (Murrieta, Calif.) is tied for 52nd at 155 (77-78). She had three birdies on the day.
- Junior Reese Guzman (Kahului, Hawai'i) is also tied for 52nd at 155 (80-75). Both of her birdies came in the afternoon.
- Sophomore Kaleiya Romero (San Jose, Calif.) is tied for 68th at 159 (77-82). She had four birdies in the first round.
- Graduate Megan Dennis (Bedfordshire, United Kingdom) is also tied for 68th at 159 (81-78). Four of her five birdies occurred in the first round.

The third round was scheduled to start at 8 a.m. on Tuesday (but may be adjusted in order to finish the second round).
