MADISON, Wisconsin – The #5 Pepperdine women's tennis team advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA National Team Indoor Championships with a 4-1 victory over #17 Old Dominion on Friday afternoon at the Nielsen Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Wisconsin.

Victoria Flores and
Lisa Zaar beating the #1-ranked doubles team in the country.
The 20
th-ranked doubles pair of
Savannah Broadus (Carrollton, Texas) and
Janice Tjen (Jakarta, Indonesia) claimed a 6-3 victory on court two over Alexandra Viktorovich/Alesya Yakubovich to give Pepperdine the first win. Shortly after, the 14
th-ranked pair of
Victoria Flores (Fort Dodge, Iowa) and
Lisa Zaar (Stockholm, Sweden) took down Tatsiana Sasnouskaya and Yuliia Starodubtseva, the top-ranked doubles pair in the country, 6-3 to seal the doubles point for the Waves.
Tjen, ranked 90
th nationally, was the first singles winner after dispatching Sophia Johnson in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3, on court five to give Pepperdine (4-1) a 2-0 cushion. Shortly after, the eighth-ranked Zaar was a straight-set winner on two, defeating Tatsiana Sasnouskaya 6-1, 6-2 to give the Waves a commanding 3-0 lead.
Old Dominion (3-3) took court four in straight sets, making Pepperdine's lead two with three courts to play – all going to three sets. Broadus took care of Alesya Yakubovich 2-6, 7-6 (2), 6-4 to win on six and win the match for Pepperdine.
