MALIBU, Calif. – Five members of the Pepperdine women's soccer team garnered postseason honors from the West Coast Conference today, highlighted by
Carlee Giammona and
Trinity Watson making the All-WCC first team.
In addition,
Tatum Wynalda was named to the All-WCC second team and WCC All-Freshman team, and
Taylor Bloom and
Kam Pickett were All-WCC honorable mention.
The Waves finished the regular season last week with a 9-4-5 overall record and tied for fifth place in the WCC at 3-3-3.
Bloom (Huntington Beach, Calif./Orange Lutheran HS), a freshman defender, earned her first All-WCC honors. She played in 13 games with 10 starts and scored her first collegiate goal against San Diego State (8/28). Bloom was in the lineup for seven shutouts this season.
Giammona (Las Vegas, Nev./Palo Verde HS/Alabama), a senior midfielder, earned her second All-WCC honors as a Wave, marking the first for her on the first team (2021 second team). She led Pepperdine this season with nine goals including four game-winners. Giammona had her first six-point game, with two goals and two assists in the season opener against CSUN. She played and started all 18 games this season.
Pickett (Santa Barbara, Calif./Dos Pueblos HS), a redshirt sophomore defender, played and started in all 18 games this season and had three shots. She helped the Waves collect 10 shutouts this season. This is the second year in a row that Pickett has earned postseason honors (2021 WCC All-Freshman team).
Watson (Ocean Beach, Calif./Point Loma HS), a senior defender, earned All-WCC honors for the fourth consecutive year. She started all 18 games this season. She had two goals, which were both on penalty kicks, and led Pepperdine in assists with seven. Watson set a new school record with her eighth career penalty kick after successfully converting a penalty kick against Santa Clara (11/5) in the regular season finale.
Wynalda (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Westlake HS), a freshman forward, notched her first All-WCC honors as a Wave. She played in all 18 games with eight starts. Wynalda was the second-leading scorer on the squad with eight goals, including a late game-tying goal against LSU (8/25).
