IRVINE, California – The #9 Pepperdine men's water polo team's final road trip of the regular season was unsuccessful, as the Waves fell at #11 UC Irvine 12-10 on Saturday afternoon in Golden Coast Conference play.
The Waves (12-13, 1-3) got off to a slow start as the Anteaters (14-10, 2-2) scored the first three goals of the contest, and Pepperdine never caught up.

- Junior center Travis Reynolds (Rolling Hills Estates, Calif./Loyola HS) tied his career high with three goals.
- Senior attacker Curtis Jarvis (Huntington Beach, Calif./Huntington Beach HS) had two goals and two assists.
- Freshman attacker Sandor Gal (Budapest, Hungary) had two goals.

The Anteaters went up 3-0 and it took more than six minutes before junior center defender
Nico Tierney (Sierra Madre, Calif./Harvard-Westlake HS) opened Pepperdine's scoring on a 6-on-5. The Waves got within a goal multiple times during the contest, the last one coming at 9-8 on a score by freshman attacker
Adam Csapo (Budapest, Hungary) with two minutes left in the third period. But, UCI went up 10-8 after three quarters, and took another three-goal lead at 11-8 early in the fourth, while the Waves got no closer than the final margin of two.
