Three Waves Garner All-West Region Honors

MALIBU, Calif. – Three members of the Pepperdine women's soccer team collected All-West Region status from United Soccer Coaches, featuring Carlee Giammona, Trinity Watson and Tatum Wynalda. Watson notched first team honors, while Giammona and Wynalda were named to the second team.
Giammona (Las Vegas, Nev./Palo Verde HS/Alabama), a senior midfielder, earned All-West Region honors for the second time (in 2021 she made the first team) and also was named to the All-WCC first team this season. Giammona led the squad this season with nine goals including four game-winners. She had her first six-point game, with two goals and two assists in the season opener against CSUN. Giammona played and started all 18 games this season.
Watson (Ocean Beach, Calif./Point Loma HS), a senior defender, marked her third time making the All-West Region team and her second time on the first team (in 2019 she made the second team). She also collected her fourth All-WCC honor as a Wave. Watson started all 18 games this season. She nabbed two goals, which were both on penalty kicks, and led Pepperdine in assists with seven. Watson set a new school record with her eighth career penalty kick after successfully converting against Santa Clara (11/15) in the regular season finale.
Wynalda (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Westlake HS), a freshman forward, has earned All-West Region honors for the first time and was also named to the All-WCC second team. Wynalda played in all 18 games this season with eight starts. She was the second-leading scorer on the squad with eight goals, including a late game-tying goal against LSU (8/25). Wynalda also tallied two goals and earned a penalty kick for a third against then ranked #19 BYU (10/19).
The Waves finished the regular season with a 9-4-5 overall record and tied for fifth place in the WCC at 3-3-3.
