MALIBU, California – Four members of the Pepperdine men's water polo team collected postseason awards from the Golden Coast Conference today, highlighted by Dennis Blyashov's appearance on the All-GCC first team.
 
Additionally, Adam Csapo was All-GCC second team and Nico Tierney was honorable mention, while both Csapo and Sandor Gal were on the GCC All-Freshman squad.
 
Blyashov (Carlsbad, Calif./Cathedral Catholic HS/Harvard), a grad transfer attacker, ended the regular season tied for second in the GCC with 85 points. He's also first in steals (33), third in assists (36) and tied for sixth in goals (49). A two-time All-American at Harvard, this is Blyashov's first and only season with the Waves.
 
Csapo (Budapest, Hungary), an attacker, was the only freshman to earn a spot on the first team, second team or honorable mention. He matched Blyashov with a team-high-tying 49 goals, good for a tie for sixth in the GCC. He is also seventh in points with 74.

Tierney (Sierra Madre, Calif./Harvard-Westlake HS), a junior center defender, is second in the GCC in steals (29), fifth in assists (28) and eighth in points (67). He has scored 39 goals this season. This is Tierney's second straight All-GCC honorable mention nod.
 
Gal (Budapest, Hungary), a freshman attacker, is fourth in the GCC in assists (35) and tied for fourth in steals (26). He's also accumulated 26 goals and 61 points.
 
The Waves (13-13, 2-3) tied for fourth in the GCC. They'll be the #5 seed at this weekend's GCC Tournament, which is being hosted by UC Santa Barbara. Pepperdine will open up against UC Irvine on Friday (Nov. 18) at 5 p.m.
