MALIBU, California – Adam Csapo of the Pepperdine men's water polo team received the program's first Golden Coast Conference Player of the Week award of the season after the freshman attacker had a 12-goal, six-assist output over five games this past weekend.
Csapo (Budapest, Hungary) had a team-high 18 points as the Waves went 4-0 at the Gary Troyer Tournament in Claremont, followed by a home game in which the Waves battled #2 UCLA close before taking a 10-8 defeat.
He had a team-high three goals against the Bruins. He also had a six-goal, three-assist game against Pomona-Pitzer, and a three-goal, two-assist effort against Air Force.
For the season, Csapo has a GCC-best 41 goals and ranks second in the league with 61 points.
The #11 Waves (10-9) begin GCC play this weekend with a home game against San Jose State on Sunday (Oct. 9) at noon. The matchup will be streamed on the WCC Network.
