MALIBU, California – The Pepperdine women's swim and dive program prepares for its first meets outside of Malibu this weekend, as the Waves will face San Jose State and Cal Poly.
Meet 5: Friday (October 21) at SRAC Pool in San Jose, Calif.: Pepperdine at San Jose State at 1 p.m.
Meet 6: Saturday (October 22) at Anderson Aquatic Center in San Luis Obispo, Calif.: Pepperdine at Cal Poly at 11 a.m.
Pepperdine wrapped up its two-week homestand with a pair of convincing dual wins last weekend, sweeping Cal State East Bay on Friday, October 14 and Saturday, October 15 by scores of 106-59 and 167-95, respectively. On Friday, the Waves took first in seven of the nine events, while AJ Adams (Castle Rock, Colo./Valor Christian HS) won three individual events on Saturday to pace the Waves.
This will be the first dual meeting between Pepperdine and San Jose State since 2001, when the Spartans won in Northern California. Pepperdine seeks its first win over SJSU since 1999, also in San Jose. The Waves last faced Cal Poly in 2019, falling in a dual in San Luis Obispo. The Waves are looking for their first dual win over the Mustangs since 2009.
After Saturday's meet, Pepperdine will have two weeks off before hosting Loyola Marymount on Friday, November 4, at 11 a.m. On Saturday, November 5, the Waves will have their final home meet of the fall, hosting both UC Santa Barbara and UC San Diego at 11 a.m.
