Waves Run Saturday in Northern California for Final Regular-Season Race

MALIBU, California – The Pepperdine men's and women's cross country team are headed to Northern California following a two-week break to compete in the Bronco Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 15, for the final race of the regular season.Â

The meet will begin at 8:45 a.m. at the Baylands Regional Park in Sunnyvale. The top runners will compete in the Invitational races (men's 8K at 8:45 a.m., women's 6K at 9:30 a.m.), and there will also be Open races (men's 8K at 10:15 a.m., women's 6K at 11 a.m.). Pepperdine will have runners in all four races.

Head coach Lauren Floris said: "We look forward to the Bronco Invitational every year. It's a fast course with great competition and our athletes always race well there. We are expecting exciting performances from each team and from the athletes individually."

NOTABLE
- The women's team collected a first-place finish and the men earned a second-place finish at the Waves Invitational on Oct. 1. This was the first meet that the Waves have hosted in Alumni Park since 2017 and the first time that Pepperdine's women have won the Waves Invitational.
- The Waves' women had seven runners in the top 20 and the men had four runners in the top 25.
- Sophomore Megan LaCamera (Burbank, Calif./Burbank HS) led the Waves with a third-place finish in a time of 23:29.8 at the Waves Invitational.
- LaCamera has been the #1 Waves runner in all three meets this season.
- Sophomore Eden Mittelsdorf (Nashville, Tenn./Brentwood HS) crossed second for the Waves in a time of 23:50.3, which was good for seventh place.
- Senior Olivia Miller (Tallahassee, Fla./Lawton Chiles HS) collected 10th place in a time of 24:11.8.
- Mittelsdorf and Miller have scored in the top five for the Waves at all three meets this season.
- Senior Skyler Danley (Easton, Pa./Easton Area HS) currently ranks 10th on the Pepperdine women's 6K all-time list, LaCamera is 13th and Miller is 20th.
- Graduate student Will Bullock (Marrieta, Ga./Kennesaw Mountain HS/Eastern Illinois) led the Waves' men in a time of 27:08.0, which was good for a fourth-place finish.
- Bullock has been the #1 runner for the Waves in the past two meets, while junior Johnathan Flint (Flower Mound, Texas/Flower Mound HS) was the #1 runner at the Mark Covert Classic.
- Sophomore Elias Spence (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg Area HS) was three seconds behind Bullock in a time of 27:10.0, which was good for fifth overall.
- Flint, Bullock and Spence all sit on the Pepperdine men's 8K all-time list with Flint ranked 10th, Bullock 13th and Spence 18th.Â
