Pepperdine Women Win Waves Invitational

MALIBU, California – The Pepperdine women's cross country team collected a first-place finish and the Pepperdine men earned a second-place finish on Saturday morning at the Waves Invitational. This was the first meet that the Waves have hosted in Alumni Park since 2017. This marks the first time that Pepperdine's women have won the Waves Invitational.

The women defeated five other schools, while the men beat four teams (including rival LMU). CSUN won the men's race.

Graduate student Will Bullock led the Waves in the men's 8K in a time of 27:08.0, which was good for a fourth-place finish. Sophomore Elias Spence was only three seconds behind Bullock in a time of 27:10.0, which was good for fifth place. The men had a second-place showing and had four runners in the top 25.

Sophomore Megan LaCamera was the first to cross the finish line for the women in the 6K in a time of 23:29.8, which notched her a third-place finish. Sophomore Eden Mittelsdorf was not too far behind LaCamera and clocked in at 23:50.3, which was good for seventh place. The Waves' women had seven runners in the top 20.
