Waves Advance to NCAA Semifinals for First Time Since 2006

LAKE NONA, Florida – Freshman Guy Den Ouden and senior Adrian Oetzbach of the Pepperdine men's tennis team earned a spot in the NCAA Doubles Tournament semifinals after defeating a Minnesota pair 6-3, 3-6, 10-7 in the quarterfinals.

It is the first time since the 2006 National Championship team that the Waves have made an appearance in the semifinal round, as Andre Begemann and Scott Doerner were the last Pepperdine pair to achieve the feat. Begemann and Doerner eventually made it to the finals but were defeated by Kevin Anderson and Ryan Rowe of Illinois.

Pepperdine has sent five doubles teams to the individual tournament's semifinals, going 4-1 overall.

The Waves will take on Finn Murgett and Tad Maclean of Auburn, who defeated pairs from Virginia Tech and Notre Dame as well as USC's #10 Riley Smith and Daniel Cukierman 7-6(2), 3-6, 10-3 in route to the semis. Murgett and Maclean finished the regular season ranked #26 in the country.
