MALIBU, Calif. – The Pepperdine baseball team fell in the series opener 11-0 against Santa Clara on Friday afternoon
The Waves (15-22, 7-12 WCC) Could not keep up with the Broncos' (15-27, 8-17 WCC) offensive efforts, as Santa Clara scored in the first four innings of play.

The Broncos opened up the scoring in the top of the first with an RBI single to take a 1-0 lead through an inning of play.
An RBI groundout in the second extended the Bronco's lead to 2-0 after two.
With two outs and runners on second and third, a single into right gave the Broncos a 4-0 lead.
Another RBI single in the fourth made it 5-0 in favor of the Broncos. Santa Clara added another run on an RBI single. A bases-loaded single added two more runs to push the lead to 8-0.
In the sixth, a bases-loaded walk brought in the Broncos' ninth run, giving them a 9-0 lead through six innings.
A two-run home run in the eighth gave Santa Clara an 11-0 lead through eight innings, which was too much for the Waves to overcome.
