BATON ROUGE, Louisiana – Facing a remarkably good field at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic, the Pepperdine women's golf team is in 10th place after Tuesday's first two rounds, while
Lion Higo is tied for fifth.
The Waves shot 594 (296-298) at the par-72 University Club today. The 14-team tournament features four top-10 teams, eight top-25 teams and 12 top-50 teams, according to Golfstat. The Waves currently lead #5 Florida State, #12 Georgia, #24 Florida and #28 Kentucky.

- Freshman Lion Higo (Gold Coast, Australia) is tied for fifth with a 1-under 143 (74-69). He had three birdies in the morning, and her 3-under in the afternoon included five birdies and an eagle. She was 2-over after seven holes but was flawless the rest of the way, featuring three birdies and the eagle on the par-5 sixth hole.
- Freshman Caroline Hwang (Orlando, Fla.) is tied for 29th at 149 (73-76). Five of her six birdies on the day came in the first round.
- Sophomore Reese Guzman (Kahului, Hawai'i) is tied for 43rd at 151 (77-74). She had two birdies in the first round and four in the second.
- Senior Megan Dennis (Bedfordshire, United Kingdom) is also tied for 43rd at 151 (72-79). Four of her five birdies came in the morning when she shot an even-par round.
- Freshman Kaleiya Romero (San Jose, Calif.) is 71st at 161 (81-80). She had two birdies and an eagle in the second round.

Pepperdine will be paired with Kentucky and Florida for the third and final round on Wednesday. The shotgun start will commence at 6:30 a.m. PT/8:30 a.m. CT.
