HENDERSON, Nevada – The Pepperdine women's golf team will be needing a big final round as the Waves stand in third place after Friday's second round at the West Coast Conference Championships.
The Waves have a two-day total of 594 (299-295) at the par-72 Reflection Bay Golf Club. That puts them 10 shots back of BYU and five behind Gonzaga.
The Waves are trying to win their second straight and 19th overall WCC title.
PLAYER SCORES
- Freshman Caroline Hwang (Orlando, Fla.) is in third place at 145 (71-74). She'll head into the final round four shots back of the leader. She had four birdies in the second round.
- Senior Megan Dennis (Bedfordshire, United Kingdom) is tied for seventh at 148 (76-72). Her even-par round was the best of the day for the Waves. She had three birdies, all of which came in a four-hole stretch mid-round.
- Freshman Kaleiya Romero (San Jose, Calif.) is tied for 11th at 150 (75-75). She had one birdie today.
- Sophomore Reese Guzman (Kahului, Hawai'i) is tied for 16th at 153 (79-74). She had one birdie on Friday.
- Freshman Lion Higo (Gold Coast, Australia) is 22nd at 157 (77-80). She had three birdies in the second round.
UP NEXT
BYU, Gonzaga and Pepperdine will be the final group to start Saturday's third round. They'll begin play on the first tee at 7:50 a.m.
