Clevely Wins WCC Defensive Weekly Award Again

MALIBU, California – For the fourth consecutive week, the Pepperdine women's soccer team brought home the West Coast Conference's Defensive Player of the Week award, with goalkeeper Zoe Clevely earning the honor for the second time.
Clevely began the run by receiving the award on March 2, while defender Trinity Watson received it on March 9 and 16.
This past weekend, Clevely (Huntington Beach, Calif./Edison HS) tied her career high with seven saves at Portland as the Waves posted their third shutout in the last four games in a 0-0 tie. Clevely stopped three shots in the first half and four in the second half, including a couple of close-range Pilot chances.
Clevely hasn't allowed a goal in 395 minutes of action this season and her record is 4-0-1.
Later today (Tuesday, March 22), the Waves (4-2-1, 3-0-1) host Santa Clara (3-0-0, 3-0-0) in a matchup between the WCC's final two unbeaten teams in league play. The game, which kicks off at 3 p.m., will be streamed via the WCC Network. Due to current COVID-19 policies, fans will not be permitted to attend.
